Rethinking the deaf or blind choice, I choose deaf just because leading a normal life would be easier. Not knowing what music was would make it easier to deal with. Now that I do know, much of my money has been spent on buying speakers, iPod MP3 players, headphones and music subscriptions online to feed my soul.
